Programs are offered every day after school to provide
a safe, healthy environment for young people. Youth Members and Teen ACCESS
Members can participate in a variety of programs Monday - Friday from
2:20 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. during the school year. Programs include: gym and
outdoor activities, cooking , arts and crafts, board & card games,
Youth Advocacy Program (YAP), Friday movies, bumper pool and socializing
in the teen room, etc. Special
outings are also offered, including hiking, camping, Camden Snowbowl and
Sugarloaf, trips to the mall, and more. Keep your eyes open for flyers
posted in the teen room and at our Member Information Station. Please
sign up by the posted deadline to ensure that trips are not cancelled
due to lack of registration. Middle School Dances Dances are open to students currently in 6th - 8th Grade.
Please check with the YMCA for times and fees. Please
bring your school ID to speed admission. Youth Advocacy Program (YAP)
Over the past few years, this group has learned that their opinions matter and that they can make a positive change in their community and state. The YAP group is made possible through the Healthy Maine Partnership and the Waldo County General Hospital. A free snack is provided at each meeting. Meetings will be held on Wednesdays from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. in the teen room at the Waldo County YMCA. |
